“Dawn Wiggins was my mentor during the Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care(PAC) Trainer Certification Course that I took in September 2018. She was such a remarkable role model and I learned so much regarding People Living with Dementia(PLWD) that I asked her to speak at the Arjo National Sales and Service Conference, February 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona. Dawn provided a presentation on Dementia, PAC and how that relates to caregiver interaction while using Safe Resident Mobilization Equipment. She offered suggestions to the sales team on how their increased knowledge regarding PLWD would allow them to have more appropriate conversations with facility leaders and stakeholders. Her presentation was in line with the principles that our sales team learned regarding having the right solution for the customer’s needs. It is a fantastic presentation and the audience both clinical and sales were able to take nuggets from the presentation that could be used immediately while interacting with their customers. Excellent presentation!!!!”
"Dawn is a very committed and caring individual. Her knowledge of health care for the elderly, especially dementia, and her care of personal and psychological needs of the residents at Chartwell in the memory unit is exemplary."
Dawn recently presented on the subject of falls prevention and management for people living with dementia at the "I'm Still Standing" summit. Her knowledge on the subject of dementia and in particular sensory deficits that increase the risk of falls for this group of individuals was extraordinary, and her description and examples of the fall risks were not only easy to understand but they were explained in a way that provided the audience of healthcare professionals with an experiential learning experience. I can't wait to invite her back.
“Dawn is truly a care professional. Her dedicated approach to the fire safety of her staff and patients was outstanding. She has a clear vision and focus on safety procedures and policies ensuring all training of staff in collaboration with emergency response staff was clearly demonstrated during legislated evaluations. Dawn is commended for her noteworthy efforts.”
